Chelsea have identified Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba as their chief summer transfer target according to Goal.com.
The west London side will use the £40m accrued from the sale of David Luiz to PSG to partly fund a bid for the £65m rated Italian international though Juventus have stated their intention to keep hold of the 21 year old.
Pogba has been superb since leaving Man United for Turin, playing a pivotal role in back to back Serie A title successes under Antonio Conte though a bid that nears the Italian club’s valuation may be hard to turn down.
Jose Mourinho has told Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich that he is seeking a central midfield ‘Marquee’ signing and they wouldn’t come much bigger than Pogba, a player who is rightly considered one of the hottest prospects in world football.
Chelsea have already made contract with Juventus and his agent, Mino Raiola has spoken of the possibility of his client leaving this summer.
Chelsea expect to welcome in Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa and Mourinho will turn to Tottenham’s Paulinho if they fail in their advances for Pogba.
