Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers looks set to sign three players in the next few days with the Evening Standard reporting that the Anfield side are set to start their summer spending with the capture of Southampton veteran Rickie Lambert.

The 32 year old is set to undergo a medical with the England man costing somewhere between £4m and £9m, a move that will see the Liverpudlian act as a back-up option to in-form duo Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
Liverpool have registered a £16m bid for highly rated Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno with the two clubs in negotiations over the deal.
The 21 year old Spanish international is likely to replace first choice starter Jose Enrique, who missed much of last season, with young Englishman John Flanagan perhaps set to switch to his usual spot on the right hand side of the Liverpool defence.
Rodgers is also looking to capture German youngster Emre Can with Liverpool ready to meet Bayer Leverkusen midfielder’s buyout clause though the player is still to reach agreement over his wage demands.
The Liverpool manager may look to balance the books with player sales and could consider cashing in on Iago Aspas, Fabio Borini and Oussama Assaidi.
