Everton Consider Surprise Move for Tottenham Midfielder

White Hart Lane star on Goodison Park radar.

Check in to Belgium vs Algeria

Everton are said to be keeping tabs on Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele with Toffees boss being keen on signing the White Hart Lane star according to the Liverpool Echo.

Perhaps mindful of their failed efforts to bring in Gareth Barry on a permanent basis Martinez may feel the need to strengthen his central midfield options and a move for 26 year old Dembele is a wise one to consider.

The former Fulham man had an up and down time of it last season, starting 22 of Tottenham’s 38 Premier League fixtures, and given that Mauricio Pochettino is said to be interested in bringing in England man Adam Lallana the Belgian may fear his first team chances may become even more limited.

Tottenham signed Dembele in August 2012 and chairman Daniel Levy may well be keen to offload a number of players in order to fund moves for new additions and could therefore consider offers lower than the £15m they paid Fulham.

Dembele can of course discuss the merits of a move to north London with national team colleagues Kevin Mirallas and Romelu Lukaku who both had excellent seasons at Goodison Park last term.
