On Tuesday Mauricio Pochettino was named as the new Tottenham Hotspur manager, joining from Southampton and succeeding Tim Sherwood at the club.

Whilst the Argentine has been a largely popular appointment among the fans, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will have high expectations for the 42-year-old.

The most likely target for Pochettino will be to guide Tottenham to Champions League qualification and with strong competition in the Premier League that is an extremely difficult task.

So here are five players the former Saints boss should sign in order to ensure that happens.

Daley Blind, Ajax

One of the biggest problems for the north London outfit in 2013/14 was at left-back, where Danny Rose was generally struggling for either form or fitness.

It seems the future of the position does not lie with Rose and with only Zeki Fryers as backup more support is needed and Blind is the ideal choice with plenty of Champions League and international experience.
