Four Premier League teams want to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson this summer, according to the Sunday People.

Hull City are apparently at the front of the queue and are hoping that £8m will be sufficient to sign Dawson and midfielder Jake Livermore, who spent this season on loan at the KC Stadium.

However, the Tigers may face stiff competition from three London clubs.

West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers, who secured promotion from the Championship via the playoffs, have all been credited with an interest in Dawson.

Dawson is Tottenham’s club captain and he has two years left on his current contract at White Hart Lane.

The 30-year started 31 Premier League games this season, but he could be made available for transfer by new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who took charge of Spurs last month, after resigning from his post at Southampton.

Dawson, who joined Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in January 2005, is strong in the air and confident in possession.

However, he is fairly slow and his tendency to play long balls may not suit Pochettino’s desired style of play.
