Tottenham will look to win the race to sign much sought after midfielder Adam Lallana and will offer winger Andros Townsend as bait in a part exchange deal for the Southampton star according to the Daily Mirror.

Incoming White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring in the 25 year old England man, who is also strongly linked with a move to join Liverpool.
22 year old wide-man Townsend enjoyed an excellent start to 2013/14 and impressed for both club and country but an ankle injury and a drop in form curtailed his season and the attacker is now seen as surplus to requirements and a move to St Mary’s may tempt the Spurs man.
Pochettino will look to get the most out of fellow Argentine Erik Lamela, who endured a torrid first season at Tottenham, and as such Townsend’s position on the right wing is under threat, not least as Aaron Lennon is currently the first choice for the spot.
Lallana may well be tempted to follow his former boss to north London though the allure of a move to Anfield and a resurgent Liverpool side with Champions League football to offer would be tough to turn down.
