La Liga side Valencia are lining up moves to radically alter their Mestalla attack with the Spanish club’s new owners targeting Chelsea forward Fernando Torres and Man United bench warmer Javier Hernandez according to the Sunday Mirror.

Both players could well be available this summer and arguably both players could do with a fresh challenge having failed to make a consistent impact at their respective clubs.

In the case of £50m Chelsea signing Torres the player’s faults in recent seasons have understandably led to a more limited role in first team matters however Chicharito has impressed when called upon but just doesn’t appear to be a player valued by his Old Trafford employers.

Hernandez managed just four Premier League starts in 2013/14 and this despite his overall, very respectable, record of 59 goals in 152 appearances, of which 69 were from the bench, goal tally.

Valencia finished in eighth spot in La Liga so have no European football whatsoever to offer either target but new billionaire owner Peter Lim will no doubt offer both players a sizable incentive to join the club and can offer the pair regular first team action which may be another motivating factor.
