Although Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Mario Mandzukic, Loic Remy and even Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, it looks as though they could bolster their striking options with a little known Frenchman…

Jean-Cristophe Bahebeck is currently on the books at Ligue 1 champions PSG, but the French giants are apparently willing to part with him on a free transfer, providing a 50% sell-on fee is inserted into his deal with a prospective buyer.

The 21-year-old spent time on loan at Valenciennes last term, scoring three goals in 19 appearances, and in a similar amount of games before last season, he failed to score a goal for PSG.

Arsene Wenger reckons though that the pacy forward, who possesses very quick feet, could be a bargain signing, and the players’s representative Willie McKay agrees.

“When you consider the prices being asked for English players of similar level it’s a very good deal.” the agent told the Daily Mail.

“We have a lot of interest from English clubs.”

Arsenal desperately need striker improvements with Olivier Giroud the only top level forward at the club. Nicklas Bendtner is leaving on a free this summer, and Yaya Sanogo has yet to score a goal for the club.

Interestingly, 21-year-old Sanogo also arrived from France on a free last summer, and his failure to shine forebodes the potential Bahebeck deal. – with Arsenal fans no doubt hoping their side targets a more experienced attacker.
