Check in to Chile vs Australia

Liverpool have made an official bid for Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez according to the Metro.

The 25 year old Chilean looks set to leave the Nou Camp and a host of sides are chasing the adaptable front-man with Man United, Tottenham and Juventus all looking to acquire his services.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to further strengthen his Anfield attack having completed a £4m move to sign Southampton veteran Rickie Lambert and may see Sanchez as a possible third prong of an strike-force that would of course include Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

Sanchez struggled in his first two seasons at Barcelona but was a big success in 2013/14, scoring 21 goals and providing 15 assists in all competitions, however incoming boss Luis Enrique is set to conduct something of a clear-out and the former Udinese man seems surplus to requirements.

A successful move for Sanchez would be a big statement of intent from the Merseyside outfit and Rodgers wants a deal signed and sealed before the World Cup starts, no doubt concerned that a good display could see his valuation rise whilst also attracting new suitors.
