Chelsea’s Player of the Year last term Eden Hazard will be given the no.10 shirt ahead of the 2014/15 season, reports the Mirror.

Rumours have been circulating that the Belgian would be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, with Ligue 1 champions PSG reportedly lining up a whopping a £61m bid for his services.

PSG’s interest came on the back off the fact Hazard had a publicised fallout with maverick Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho at the end of last season. After the 23-year-old accused the side of playing too defensive a brand of football, and his boss retaliated by claiming Hazard is too immature and selfish to fulfil his defensive duties down the wing.

However, the latest comments from Hazard will delight Chelsea fans, as it looks as though he’ll be staying with the club ahead of next season.

“I am very pleased to be able to wear the number 10 for Chelsea,” he said.

“It is my favourite number and is one I am used to wearing for the national team, as well as the one worn by some of my heroes from when I was a kid, like Zinedine Zidane.

“I hope it brings me a lot of luck in the future and I look forward to the fans seeing me in it next season.”

Last term, Juan Mata wore the no.10 shirt for Chelsea before he was sold to Manchester United in 2010 for just over £37m. In recent seasons, the likes of Yossi Benayoun and Joe Cole have donned the no.10 shirt for the Blues, but now it will be given to a genuine superstar.

Last term, Hazard scored 14 goals in the Premier League, and topped Chelsea’s assist charts as well.
