Sevilla President Discusses Moreno’s Possible Move To Liverpool

Sevilla do not want Suso and will only accept straight cash for Liverpool target…

Premier League giants Liverpool will have to shell out £16.2m in straight cash to sign Sevilla’s 21-year old left-back prodigy Alberto Moreno, reports the Daily Mirror.

The Reds are desperate to sign a new first choice left-back this summer to replace Jose Enrique, whose return after injury is very uncertain, and have identified Moreno as the perfect long term prospect. Moreno is known for his flair and link-up play going forward, while he is also believed to be solid in his defensive duties.

Despite previous reports on the contrary however, the sides have not agreed a fee for the defender.

“It’s true that there’s interest from Liverpool and we’re waiting to see if that turns into a reality, which right now, it isn’t,” said Sevilla president Jose Castro.

“What I’m clear about is that we’ll not force anyone to stay at Sevilla. Whoever wants to leave can do so, but we’ll be the ones setting the prices.

“This club is experiencing a time of economic stability and we don’t need to sell.

“We’re going to be firm about this and we’ll only consider selling outside the market, which gives us the opportunity to make our team competitive.”

Liverpool’s bid including attacking midfielder Suso as a makeweight in the deal for Moreno has been rejected, which means that Rodgers might have to splash cash only to sign the Spanish international.

Liverpool might have to cave into Sevilla’s demands if they want their man though, as the Europa League winners know that they have many more teams such as Real Madrid who would be willing to meet their asking price to seal the deal for the youngster.

Moreno won the first of his two Spanish caps last season, but has missed out on the final 23 for Vicente del Bosque’s World Cup roster.
