Arsenal And Liverpool Stars Among Top Runners At World Cup: Premier League Stars Ranked By Distance Covered

Brazil-bound Premier League stars ranked by miles run.

It is feared that England’s players will falter at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil because of the climate.

Manaus, where the Three Lions play their opening game against Italy on June 14, is likely to be hotter than 30°C, with a humidity in excess of 75 per cent.

Such conditions will make it difficult for Roy Hodgson’s players to breath, as the air will be moist and heavy.

As a result, thoughts of a high pressing game can be forgotten.

That is bad news for many of England’s stars who base their games around expelling a lot of energy and running to excess.

It is not just England players that will struggle in Brazil though. The conditions will make it difficult for all Premier League stars to play in their normal style.

The Daily Mail and EA SPORTS Player Performance Index have created an in-depth list of the World Cup-bound players that ran the most miles during this season’s Premier League.

We have listed the top 20 in reverse.

19. Luis Suarez – Liverpool and Uruguay
