Tottenham To Hijack Liverpool Transfer Swoop With Swap Deal Offer

Tottenham are desperate to sign defensive star ahead of Liverpool, and hope a swap deal will tempt him to forego Anfield for White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur have offered Europa League champions Sevilla the chance to sign Spanish international striker Roberto Soldado on loan next season along with a hefty £14 million bid for left-back Alberto Moreno.

Moreno has been a top transfer target for the north London side’s Premier League rivals Liverpool, who are said to be favourites to land the highly rated left-back since they can offer him UEFA Champions League football, but Spurs’ tempting offer for the player cannot be discounted.

Sevilla might be interested in the prospect of signing Soldado, who was a big hit in La Liga with Valencia before signing for Spurs, but his subsequent season in the Premier League was an undoubted letdown.

New Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will hope that Sevilla are tempted to place faith in the Spanish striker’s touch returning upon a return to his home country, allowing him to capture his first transfer target since being appointed at White Hart Lane.

Soldado and Moreno were both left out of Spain’s 23 man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup this summer.
