Check in to England vs Italy

Brighton and Hove Albion shotstopper Christian Walton is attracting strong attention from Arsenal and Manchester City this summer.

The player’s agent confirmed the interest from the Premier League and has claimed that they will wait and see what develops over the coming weeks.

Christian’s father and representative, Tim, was quoted in The Daily Express, saying: “A number of clubs have been watching Christian. Arsenal are one and we know Man City are keen. He did extremely well in his three games for England, which has attracted some interest from clubs.”

The 18-year-old England youth international has piqued the interest of the aforementioned Premier League sides, showcasing immense promise. Also, with Arsenal and Man City bidding adieu to Lukasz Fabianski and Costel Pantilimon respectively, the need to add a new shotstopper is imperative on their summer transfer agendas.

However, Walton has had negligible big stage experience till now, which may in turn, raise a few eyebrows if either of the sides entrust him with such a huge job (that of a second-choice goalkeeper for them). Nevertheless, the clubs will have to make a move quickly if they wish to land him, with a few other top-flight sides also understood to be huge admirers of the prodigy.
