Costa is widely expected to link up with the Blues either this weekend or early on Monday in a deal thought to be worth around £32m, but reports in Spain are suggesting that Atleti will look to include the powerful Belgian as part of the deal.
Rumours linking Lukaku with Atletico are nothing new, though, and even fellow Blues hit man Fernando Torres has been linked with a switch back to the club.
But the La Liga champions are thought to be taking a greater interest in Lukaku and will look to engineer a deal that sees him head the other way after pointing out that there will be little opportunity for the player to make an impact in west London this coming season.
Lukaku spent the previous campaign on loan at Everton where he struck 16 goals in 33 appearances.
