The west London side have already secured a £32m deal to sign Brazilian born Spanish international Diego Costa, with the 25 year old having already passed a medical and agreed a £160k a week deal.

Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho was in urgent need of addressing his ailing attack, with Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba all failing to impress on a consistent enough basis last term, and the addition of Costa, who netted 36 goals in all competitions last term, will go some way to rectifying the problem.

Left-back Filipe Luis is to fly to London to complete talks with the Premier League side over a £16m move and will presumably act as a replacement for departing veteran Ashley Cole.

The 28 year old will be handed a £100k a week deal.

Mourinho will also look to re-sign midfielder Tiago.

The 33 year old Portuguese international is out of contract and ready to return to Stamford Bridge after helping his Vicente Calderon side to the La Liga title and a Champions League final this season.

Tiago spent a season at Chelsea before moving to Lyon in 2005, with Micheal Essien moving in the opposite direction, a decision Jose Mourinho has publicly admitted was a mistaken one.

The battling box to box performer moved to Atletico Madrid in 2010 and made 34 appearances in all competitions last term and could well offer Mourinho further options in the centre of the park.
