Parc des Prince boss Laurent Blanc has already swooped to sign one Blues star this summer, spending £50m to bring in Brazilian David Luiz, and is now ready to step-up his pursuit of former Lille man Hazard.
Chelsea have turned down two approaches from the French side and Jose Mourinho has no intention of selling Hazard though a lot could depend on whether the youngster opts to push for a move to a side that he has previously made no secret of his interest in joining.
Hazard was Mourinho’s most effective attacking weapon last term, finishing the season as the club’s leading assist maker and top scorer, though the pint sized winger did fall out with the Chelsea manager towards the end of the campaign.
Having called Mourinho’s tactics into question following Chelsea’s defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals, Eden Hazard was then the subject of a direct attack from the Portuguese boss who called into question his commitment to the Blues cause.
