Chelsea have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid defender Felipe Luis after the Spaniards confirmed the signing of Granada’s Guilherme Siqueira, according to Italian news site Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Brazilian star has been lauded as one of the world’s finest in his position this season after he played a massive part in bringing the La Liga crown to the Vicente Calderon.
Subsequently, he has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks as they look to replace veteran Ashley Cole with someone that would cost markedly less than Southampton’s Luke Shaw, who has been valued at around £30m.
Atletico had initially thought to have been reluctant to let him go, but good news for the Blues is that they have signed Granada’s highly-rated Guilherme Siqueira on Friday afternoon.
The move could even go ahead as early as next week as the 28-year-old was left out of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Brazil squad to take part in the World Cup.
Chelsea still have Ashley Cole on their books until the end of the month and may offer him a one-year extension as a back up to Luis.
