Gunners boss Arsene Wenger believes he can turn the 23 year old Italian into a world class striker and the former Man City man is open to a move to London with representatives of the player and the Emirates Stadium side in negotiations to hammer out a deal.

Wenger will be handed transfer funds in excess of £100m so can well afford to make a strong offer for Balotelli and also wants to bring in QPR striker Loic Remy as part of a new look-attack with German Lukas Podolski said to be likely to make an Arsenal exit.

Though Balotelli has had his fair share of on and off field spats since moving back to the San Siro 18 months ago this hasn’t stopped him from scoring regularly, netting 30 goals in 54 appearances since his £17m move to join the Rossoneri.

Arsenal could well do with a freshened up attack with Wenger having overly rely upon Olivier Giroud last term, not least as both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott suffered with injuries last term, the pair managing just 23 Premier League starts between them.

Arsene Wenger continues to pursue Remy following his successful loan spell at Newcastle United last term when he netted 14 goals in 24 top tier starts.
