Striker limps off in friendly win.

Check in to Belgium vs Algeria

Chelsea and Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku received something of an injury scare in his side’s 1-0 friendly win over Tunisia on Sunday evening, according to BBC Sport.

With a host of big names dropping out of the tournament through injury in the last few days, including France and Germany stars Franck Ribery and Marco Reus, it looked as though Lukaku could become the latest high-profile absentee from this summer’s finals in Brazil.

However, Belgium manager Marc Wilmots was optimistic about the knock at this stage, saying it should only take a matter of days for the bruise to heal, though he conceded that the 21-year-old was having difficulty walking.

Lukaku has been tipped to be one of the young stars to look out for at the World Cup this summer after two impressive seasons on loan at West Bromwich Albion and more recently Everton, and he recently hinted that he hopes a good tournament for his country this summer could help earn him a move away from Chelsea, where he has struggled to become part of the first-team.

Despite this injury scare, the talented forward should still be able to recover in time for Belgium’s first game of the competition.
