Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Granada and Algeria midfielder Yacine Brahimi, reports the Daily Express, as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his squad ahead of his first season in charge at White Hart Lane.

The 24-year-old is a key member of the La Liga side’s starting XI and has made 33 appearances for Granada this season, scoring three goals. He is known for his impressive dribbling and passing ability and plays in an attacking midfield role for Granada.

There is a €15 million release clause in Brahimi’s contract, which Spurs would be capable of meeting, although they would hope to pay less for the player.

Spurs are not alone in their interest of the young schemer as Everton have also been mentioned in connection with Brahimi.

This means that it may well be difficult to bring him in for a lower price and it is likely that it will take an offer of the release clause to seal a deal.

Although Brahimi now appears for Algeria, and will do at this summer’s World Cup, he had previously turned out for France Under-21s and was born in Paris.

Having spent time in the youth system at Paris Saint-Germain he made his professional debut for Rennes in 2009, going on to sign for Granada last year.

Brahimi switched his allegiance to Algeria in 2013 and is set to feature for his adopted nation in Group H of the World Cup in the coming weeks.
