Liverpool prepare a move 18 year-old Schalke starlet Max Meyer.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is understood to be getting ready to land another Bundesliga youngster at Anfield. Reports in the Metro have revealed that the Reds are contemplating tabling an £8m bid for Schalke 04 youngster Max Meyer.
It is also reported that the Royal Blues will also be entitled to a certain percentage of the player’s transfer fee, should the Merseysiders decide to sell him in the future. Additionally, if Meyer helps the club win any trophies, Schalke will receive bonuses too.
The 18 year-old, who has impressed one and all with his performances for his club in the German top tier, was also believed to be on the transfer wishlist of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho last season.
Meanwhile, the Reds may not find it easy to lure Meyer to Anfield this summer, especially as the player has recently put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at the Veltins-Arena.
Also, the youngster would want assurances of regular first team football before agreeing to the move and it is unlikely that Rodgers would be able to promise the same.
