Former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti may feel his chances of landing the Brazilian will have increased following Jose Mourinho’s successful capture of Spanish international Cesc Fabregas.

Ramires has been the mainstay of the Chelsea first team set-up for each of the past four seasons, making 196 appearances in that period, and is a player Mourinho may well not want to lose this summer.

Ancelotti brought the box to box performer to Chelsea during his spell in charge of the west London club and is keen to bring the Brazilian to the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid have a host of central midfielders but Ancelotti may prefer Ramires to German Sami Khedira, who missed most of last season through injury.

Mourinho may feel that Ramires is a player he can afford to cash-in on though will demand a hefty fee for the 26 year old.
