The 30 year old is an experienced performer who has played a pivotal role in Juventus’s three consecutive Serie A title triumphs but could perhaps be ready for a fresh challenge in the Premier League.

With just a year left on his contract with the Turin side this source believes Arsenal could pick up Lichtsteiner for as little as £9m, which would be a very fair price to pay for such a quality signing.

Arsene Wenger failed to persuade Sagna to sign a new deal so the French veteran has left Arsenal to join Man City and it appears that the Gunners boss is keen to bring in a direct replacement, which may leave youngster Carl Jenkinson worrying about his long term future at the north London club.

Prior to his move to Juventus Stephan Lichtsteiner three seasons at Lazio and has also spent time in France with Lille and won the Swiss title with Grasshoppers to boot.
