Germany have been boosted by the returns of influential pair Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer, who have both fully recovered from the niggling injuries that hampered their build up to the World Cup.
Lahm could move from right-back into the defensive midfield role he plays for club side Bayern Munich, while Neuer will retain his spot in between the sticks.
Portugal are set to start with skipper and star man Cristiano Ronaldo, despite him suffering with tendonitis in recent weeks.
The Real Madrid man has been plagued with the problem in his left knee, but the side will risk him in order to get their campaign off to a flying start.
Young defensive midfielder William Carvalho is also in line for a start.
