Arsenal are readying a contract offer for free agent keeper Guillermo Ochoa as Arsene Wenger seeks to bring in a top quality addition to fight Gunners first choice Wojciech Szczesny for the starting spot at the Emirates Stadium.

CaughtOffside understands that Wenger has been tracking Ochoa for some months and has been involved in talks with the 28 year old’s representatives since he left Ligue 1 side Ajaccio last month.

Wenger will be more than aware that Ochoa will be the recipient of many offers following an outstanding display against Brazil during Mexico’s goalless draw with the World Cup host’s and as such is keen to push on with talks to land the talented goalie.

Arsenal saw Lukasz Fabianski leave the club in the summer to join Swansea City and Wenger has been linked with a number of possible signings to boost his options in this field with the the likes of Iker Casillas, Colombian David Ospina and Pep Reina all said to be targets.

Ochoa spent three years with Ligue 1 side Ajaccio but seemingly opted to leave the Corsican side this summer after the club suffered relegation to Ligue 2.

Wenger is set to offer Ochoa a three year deal and hopes to secure a deal before the end of the World Cup finals.
