Arsenal star Santi Cazorla has said that he is aware of the links between himself and a move to Atletico Madrid but insists he will only discuss his future once the World Cup comes to a close, according to Sky Sports.

The Spanish international is currently in Brazil with the national team and is reluctant to be drawn into gossip regarding where his future might lay.

He has, however, stopped short of bringing an end to the speculation by ruling out a switch. Rather, he revealed that he has spoken with current Atletico stars Juanfran and Diego Godin about a switch to the Spanish capital.

That would suggest that he would be willing to consider leaving the Emirates over the summer, despite being a regular starter under Arsene Wenger and having three years left to run on his current contract.

“When the World Cup is over, I’ll start thinking about my situation,” he said.

“I don’t want to be thinking about it right now and I’ve told my agents not to tell me anything if an offer comes in.

“But I know a few of the Atletico players – Godin, Juanfran – and I know the side well from when I was playing the Spanish league.

“But until the tournament is over, I won’t know if the rumours are true or not.”
