Milan join chase for Argentine starlet.AC Milan are the latest club to show a strong interest in Hellas Verona youngster Juan Iturbe, and could offload two players to raise funds to beat the likes of Liverpool to his signature, according to SportMediaSet.it.

Former Manchester City forward Robinho could be one of the players axed by the San Siro club, while French centre-back Philippe Mexes could also make way as new manager Filippo Inzaghi looks to rebuild his squad for next season.

The former Italian international recently replaced Clarence Seedorf as head coach of the Rossoneri, and has seemingly set his sights on Iturbe as one of his top transfer targets for the summer, though there are a number of top clubs already chasing a player who has been dubbed the next Lionel Messi.

It has previously been stated that Liverpool could be put off by the player’s £24m asking price, with the 21-year-old still inexperienced at the top level despite an excellent season in Serie A this year, but the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid are also thought to be monitoring his situation.

Milan’s lack of Champions League football for next season could work against them in deals for big-name signings, but Verona look ready to sell the player despite only signing him on a permanent deal at the end of May.
