German midfielder nearing exit.Bayern Munich look to have a battle on their hands in their bid to keep Toni Kroos at the club, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Manchester United target is no closer to signing a new contract at the Allianz Arena.

The 24-year-old, who is currently on World Cup duty with the German national side, is one of the most in-demand midfield players in Europe at the moment after becoming a key performer for both club and country in recent times.

United are known to be his biggest admirers, while he has also been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid in recent months, and a big move in the near future looks increasingly likely as he stalls on penning a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions.

This will come as a big blow for manager Pep Guardiola, who only joined Bayern last summer, but who is already facing the possible exits of a number of the club’s star players who were instrumental in the treble-winning season of 2012/13.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is also wanted by United after admitting that he could leave this summer, while Dutch winger Arjen Robben is also thought to be a top target for his national team manager Louis van Gaal, who will take over at Old Trafford next season.
