United miss out on another midfielder.
Manchester United have been dealt another blow in the pursuit of a new midfielder with the Daily Express reporting that Inter Milan star Fredy Guarin is set to to sign for Juventus.
Louis van Gaal has been keen to make up for the errors made by his predecessor David Moyes in last summer’s transfer window by bringing in a quality addition in the middle of the park, but has faced a struggle to land Bayern Munich playmaker Toni Kroos, who now looks likely to join Real Madrid.
Inter’s Guarin had emerged as another top target for the Red Devils, but Juventus have also revived their interest in the player they tried to sign back in January, and may have won the race for his signature with the offer of Sebastian Giovinco going in the other direction.
The signing of the talented Colombian international could have implications over the future of another United target Arturo Vidal at the Juventus Stadium, though the Turin giants will be hoping not to lose any key players this summer.
Guarin has been a key player for Inter since moving to the San Siro from Porto in 2012, but the club have seemingly allowed him to leave after reportedly signing Rubin Kazan midfielder Yann M’Vila.
