Uruguayan hit man confirms interest in Nou Camp switch.
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has fuelled speculation that he is about to join Barcelona by telling the Catalan club he wants to join them, according to the Daily Star.
The Uruguayan international, who bagged an astonishing 31 goals in 27 appearances for the Reds last term has attracted some heavy interest from the La Liga giants as well as their arch rivals Real Madrid ahead of the summer transfer window.
And interest in his services seemed to peak after his star turn against England on Thursday night, in which a brace ended the Three Lions involvement in the tournament.
Reports in Spain are now suggesting that Suarez is now openly admitting that he wants to join Barcelona once his involvement in the competition comes to an end.
Sparish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim that Suarez has told his agent Pere Guardiola, who is the brother of ex-Barca boss Pep Guardiola, that he wants to swap Anfield for the Nou Camp this summer.
The paper also claims that Suarez is ‘in love’ with the city and wants to move closer to his parents who live in the city.
A number of deals have already been touted, claiming that Barca will meet Liverpool’s £68m valuation as well as offering them a part exchange deal that would see Alexis Sanchez move to Anfield.
