Manchester United & Chelsea Target To Allow Contract To Run Down Ahead Of Free Transfer To Bernabeu

Bayern star has heart set on Madrid.

Check in to Germany vs Ghana

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos, a target for Manchester United and Chelsea, will reportedly allow his contract at the club to run down before joining Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2015, according to the Daily Express.

The 24-year-old, currently on World Cup duty with Germany, has been one of the most impressive midfield playmakers in Europe for the last couple of seasons, helping his club to a phenomenal treble success in 2012/13, followed up by a domestic double this season with the Bavarian giants.

His classy displays in the middle of the park have seen him become one of United’s first choices to be the long-term replacement for Paul Scholes in that position, while Chelsea have also recently joined the running to snap him up.

However, it is becoming increasingly likely that the German international will favour a move to the Bernabeu, and that he is willing to wait another season before moving to the Spanish capital on a free.

Chelsea have already signed Cesc Fabregas in that position this summer, while United will likely look elsewhere now with other targets such as Arturo Vidal of Juventus and Roma’s Kevin Strootman still potentially available for transfer this year.
