Check in to Cameroon vs Brazil

Barcelona could look to offer former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song to Napoli in a bid to bring in one of their top transfer targets Gonzalo Higuain, according to Fichajes.net.

The Catalan giants have been strongly linked with a big-money move for the Argentine forward, who only moved to Serie A from Barca’s arch rivals Real Madrid last summer, though they are now attempting to bring his reported £55m asking price down by lining up an exchange deal.

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has been keen to sign a new defensive midfield player for his side this summer, with the likes of Lyon captain Maxime Gonalons and another Barcelona star Javier Mascherano emerging as some of his top targets in that position.

However, with new manager Luis Enrique seemingly keen to keep Mascherano at the Nou Camp, he may now look to offload an unwanted squad player in Song in the hope that Napoli could be tempted to bring him in instead.

The Cameroon international, currently away on international duty at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil, has also been linked with a return to the Premier League with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea and will surely be on his way out in some capacity this summer after struggling to hold down a regular place in the Barcelona side.
