Podolski welcomes Mertesacker to Germany’s 100 club.
Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker became the 10th Germany international to earn 100 senior caps on Saturday night.
The Hannover-born 29-year-old reached the landmark by appearing in a 2-2 draw with Ghana at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Gunners teammate Lukas Podolski was an unused German substitute during four-goal thriller.
Podolski has 115 senior international caps to his name and he welcomed Mertesacker to the century club with a cute Instagram upload on Sunday.
He posted the below image, along with the message: “100 caps for Germany ! Congrats to the #BFG….. #dfb #germany #aneurerseite #GERGHA #bfg #poldi #aha #selfie #100 #friends #instalike #tagsforlikes #photooftheday”
