Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti could be prepared to make a double swoop on his old club Paris Saint-Germain with bids for Edinson Cavani and Marco Verratti, according to SportMediaSet.it.

The Spanish giants are known to be in the market for new big-name signings upfront this summer, with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez currently being strongly linked with a switch to the Bernabeu, though his Uruguayan team-mate Cavani could also be a good addition for Ancelotti’s side.

The 27-year-old has not quite managed to find his best form at the Parc des Princes, but is still widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world after his time in Serie A with Napoli, leading to rumoured interest this summer from Manchester United.

Verratti is another favourite of Ancelotti and played under his fellow Italian in his first season in Ligue 1, and he is thought to be up there with the likes of Chelsea’s Ramires and Juventus star Arturo Vidal as Madrid’s top midfield targets for this transfer window.

With PSG plotting some big-money moves of their own ahead of next season, there may not be room for Cavani or Verratti in their squad, which could open up the potential for them to both move to the Spanish capital.
