Paris Saint-Germain are ready to make life difficult for Real Madrid in their pursuit of £32m-rated midfielder Marco Verratti, according to AS.

The Italian youngster has long been on the radar of a number of top clubs around Europe, including Manchester United, after it has been suggested that he could look to leave the Parc des Princes after struggling to settle in the French top flight.

Verratti has won two Ligue 1 titles with PSG during his time at the club, with the first one coming under the guidance of his former manager and fellow countryman Carlo Ancelotti, who is now in charge at Real Madrid.

The Bernabeu boss is keen on a reunion with the 21-year-old playmaker this summer, and is thought to be ready to pay around £32m to bring him to La Liga, though PSG are also interested in landing one of two Real players as part of the deal.

Both Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria appear to be top targets for the French champions, and they will request that one of them moves in the other direction if Verratti is sold.

However, both players are important members of Ancelotti’s squad, and it seems unlikely that he will allow them to move despite his desire to sign Verratti.
