The north London side are said to have held talks with representatives of Fiorentina’s Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado who is valued at a very pricey £32m.

Arsene Wenger is also continuing to track AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, with a move for the £30m Italian international looking all the more likely following the admission of vice-president Barbara Berlusconi that the 23 year old could well leave the San Siro this summer.

Wenger is keen to strengthen an attack that has heavily relied upon Olivier Giroud and Balotelli would certainly give the Gunners a fresh goal-threat and perhaps interest in Cuadrado relates to injury concerns over both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott, who both missed large chunks of last season.

Though Balotelli has had his ups and downs on and off the field of play since moving to AC Milan 18 months ago he has also scored regularly during this period, netting 30 goals in 54 appearances.

Cuadrado had a standout campaign in Florence, providing a plethora of assists whilst also scoring 15 goals in all competitions.
