Barca receive boost in Suarez chase.Barcelona are growing increasingly confident of signing Luis Suarez this summer after the Liverpool striker told them he wants a move to the Nou Camp, according to Marca.
The Uruguay international, who is currently in the spotlight once again for his disciplinary problems following a bite on Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini in their World Cup game earlier this week, was widely regarded as the best player in the Premier League in 2013/14 and one of the best attacking players in the world.
Despite his World Cup antics, Barcelona remain desperate to sign him in a big-money deal this summer, and are ready to offer up to four of their squad players to Liverpool as part of a deal, whilst also looking to make the 27-year-old one of their highest earners at the club.
Alexis Sanchez, Pedro Rodriguez, Cristian Tello or Alex Song could all be used as part of a swap deal for Suarez, with a number of these players being linked with the Reds in the past, as Barca hope to bring down the Merseysiders’ asking price of £70m.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have seemingly ended their long-standing interest in the double Player of the Year after his bite on Chiellini, leaving their Catalan rivals as the favourites to snap him up.
