Arsenal Hoping To Complete Bargain Signing Of £18m World Cup Pair

Wenger keen on £18m French duo.Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could look to address his issues upfront and at right-back with the double signing of French World Cup squad members Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy for a combined £18m, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Gunners are known to be in the market for a new signing upfront, but appear to have stalled on deals for big-money purchases such as Mario Balotelli of AC Milan and Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, and will now make Remy their priority in that position.

The Queens Park Rangers misfit impressed on loan with Newcastle United in 2013/14, but seems unlikely to make a permanent move to St James’ Park or remain at Loftus Road, leading Arsenal to line up a bid that will match his buyout clause of £10m.

Wenger also needs a new signing at right-back after the departure of Bacary Sagna to Manchester City on a free transfer, and could look to Remy’s former Newcastle team-mate and French international colleague Debuchy as the ideal candidate.

The 28-year-old is seemingly available for around £8m, and the chance to sign two established and experienced Premier League players for so cheap will be one Wenger won’t want to miss.
