Arsenal may have lost out on another major transfer target this summer as AC Milan Chief Executive Adriano Galliani has ruled out a transfer for the Italian international, according to reports from the Daily Express.

The Gunners were being extensively linked with a £30 million move for the 23-year old, but this new
development could see all their efforts to sign the former Manchester City striker go in vain. Arsenal were willing to meet Milan’s asking price, but the Italian giants probably feel that their star striker is essential in their quest get back among the top teams in Serie-A.
Clarifying Milan’s stance on Balotelli, Galliani said, “Balotelli will remain at Milan. I don’t like that it seems as though the national team lost due to Balotelli. Italy lost for other reasons. Balotelli has been the only striker who scored, others didn’t have a shot on target.”

One will now have to wait and see whether Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has anymore aces up his sleeve during the transfer window as the Gunners desperately need to strengthen their strike force before the start of next season. QPR’s Loic Remy and Swansea’s Wilfried Bony, who are hungry for top level European football, are potentially viable options for the Gunners.
