Monaco remain keen on Milan star.
AS Monaco could be the new favourites to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli this summer after reports of Arsenal‘s interest in the player waning in the last few days.
Swiss news source Infoticker.ch claims that the Italian international is the Ligue 1 side’s first choice to replace Colombian forward Radamel Falcao, who has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.
Falcao has only been with Monaco for one season, but is seemingly unhappy with life at the club after rejecting a whole host of other offers from big names last summer.
A return to Spain looks on the cards for the former Atletico Madrid man, and his departure would leave the French giants well short of quality options upfront, making a potential move for Balotelli a priority.
The 23-year-old is possibly set to be available for relatively cheap this summer as his current club Milan seem open to selling him due to his continued disciplinary issues that have plagued him throughout his career.
A return to the Premier League looked likely for some time for the former Manchester City ace, though it looks as though Arsenal will look elsewhere in their chase for a new signing upfront.
