Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal to sign highly rated Belgian youngster Divock Origi according to Le Perisien journalist Julien Laurens.

The teenager will apparently join the Anfield side this summer only to be immediately loaned back to his Ligue 1 side Lille and will in effect become Liverpool’s fourth signing of the summer with Rickie Lambert and Emre Can having officially joined the Merseyside outfit and with Adam Lallana set to do likewise.

Origi enjoyed a standout season in the French top tier last term and earned himself a spot in Marc Wilmots’ 2014 World Cup finals squad, scoring the winner for Belgium against Russia before another effective cameo against South Korea.

Rodgers is wise to consider moves to further strengthen his attack, not least as Lambert’s arrival isn’t exactly a long term plan to boost Liverpool’s striking contingent and Luis Suarez’s future at the club is very much up in the air.

The likes of Iago Aspas and Fabio Borini could also be on their way out with neither player impressing since their respective moves from Celta Vigo and AS Roma respectively.

A move for Origi is also very much in keeping with Rodgers’ long term youthful transfer policy.
