Opinionated Former Arsenal Midfielder Backs Sagna’s Move To Man City But Takes A Swipe At Nasri

Ghana international says Sagna is ‘no Judas’ and not like Nasri.

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong does not believe that Gunners fans should be angry with Bacary Sagna over his decision to join Manchester City this summer.

France right-back Sagna, 31, turned down a new contract at Arsenal, before signing a more lucrative deal with the Premier League champions.

Sagna has spoken out to say that money was not a major motivating factor and that he joined City because he wanted a change and his career needed a boost.

Fellow Frenchman Samir Nasri made the move from Arsenal to City in August 2011 and was widely criticised by Gunners supporters for being greedy, leading to the rather uninspiring nickname Cashmir Nasri.

Frimpong, who left Arsenal to join Barnsley in January, does not think that Sagna and Nasri should be tarred with the same brush.

The 22-year-old, who is now a free agent after being released by Barnsley, says that the two moves were different situations.

Social media fanatic Frimpong uploaded the below picture to Instagram on Friday, along with the message: “@therealbac The BLICK GANG Good luck at City Deserve happiness P.S He ain’t no judas Different situation to cashmir.”
