Tottenham will look to resolve their ‘problem’ area with a move for Swansea City left-back Ben Davies this summer according to the Daily Mail.

Incoming White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino has given the all clear for a £6m bid for the Welsh international, who has impressed many with his consistent displays over the past two seasons.

The Liberty Stadium side will turn to Neil Taylor as a ready-made replacement for Davies if they fail to prevent the youngster from seeking a move to north London.

Last term Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood used Danny Rose as their primary first choice starter in the left-back role and had Jan Vertonghen on hand to fill the role as and when necessary and it’s safe to say that neither player covered themselves in glory, hence the need for a new option.

White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy is sure to hand Pochettino a decent transfer fund boost, though perhaps far less than the £110m he had to fork out a year ago, and any moves to bring in significant new signings would presumably be balanced by player sales.

Davies has made 84 appearances for the south Wales side since making his Swansea City debut in August 2012.
