Now Louis van Gaal has his sights firmly set on the former Bayer Leverkusen man, who the Dutchman targeted during his stint at Bayern Munich, and will offer the South American a massive £250k a week deal which would cost Man United a stunning £65m over the course of the five year deal that is reportedly on the table.
Having already signed Spaniard Ander Herrera it’s clear that van Gaal believes his midfield needs even more work and a move for Vidal is sure to leave the likes of Tom Cleverley, Marouane Fellaini, Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick concerned for their respective futures at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal is likely to be handed a massive war-chest this summer and having already spent £62m on the aforementioned Herrera and England left-back Luke Shaw it’s clear that Man United’s owners are more than happy to back their new manager in the transfer market.
