Liverpool have been told by Barcelona that they will have to cough up £32m if they want to stand any chance of signing star forward Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Spaniards are keen to move the Chilean star on this summer, but are hoping to land an extra £2m than the £30m they paid Serie A side Udinese for him back in 2011.

Liverpool and Arsenal want Sanchez, while the forward has also been linked with Manchester United, and Barca feel his displays in Brazil, where he scored twice, more than justifies their valuation.

The Reds are said to be willing to meet the club’s price, and would be open to letting Luis Suarez move in the opposite direction providing they throw in Sanchez and a further £50m cash.

This would make the deal worth a total of £80million and meet their asking price for the banned Suarez.

However, Liverpool face a battle to convince him to make the move to Anfield as he has stated that he wants to stay at Barcelona, and if he does move then he would find a switch to Arsenal preferable.
