Argentine winger could leave as Real eye Colombia star.
Real Madrid could be willing to sell Argentine winger Angel Di Maria in a bid to land in-demand World Cup star James Rodriguez, according to Marca.
The Spanish giants are hot on the trail of the immensely talented 22-year-old, who is shining on the biggest stage in world football after an impressive debut season in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco, and are ready to do what they can to bring him to the Bernabeu as their latest ‘Galactico’ signing.
The likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also tracking Rodriguez, but Real hope that they can raise funds for a big-money move for the Colombian international by offloading Di Maria.
There is likely to be interest from Arsenal and Manchester City in the 26-year-old, who just enjoyed a highly productive campaign in Carlo Ancelotti’s side, scoring 11 goals and weighing in with 26 assists as they won the Champions League and Copa del Rey. It has previously been suggested that around £40m could be enough to sign him this summer.
Still, with Real known for letting key players leave in pursuit of more glamorous names, Di Maria looks set to be the next victim of this policy as Rodriguez continues to steal the headlines in Brazil.
