Juventus and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal is said to favour a summer move to Manchester United over Real Madrid, according to Tuttosport.

The 27-year-old is one of the most in-demand transfer targets of this year’s window, having established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world with his recent displays for Juve and for his national side at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

Vidal is heading home after Chile’s heart-breaking penalty shoot-out defeat to Brazil at the weekend, and could be set to make a decision on his future in the coming months, with sources in Italy suggesting he has preference for a move to United over Madrid.

Both clubs have been strongly linked with the former Bayer Leverkusen man in recent times, while Arsenal are also thought to be monitoring his situation, but it seems that Old Trafford could be his destination if he gets his way.

United have recently signed Ander Herrera in a £30m deal from Athletic Bilbao, but could be keen to sign another midfielder before next season as they look to improve on a highly disappointing campaign in 2013/14.

Vidal would represent a major coup for the Red Devils after they missed out on Cesc Fabregas, and with another target, Toni Kroos, possibly heading to Real Madrid.
