The north London side apparently see the 28 year old French international as the ideal man to fill the void left by the departure of Bacary Sagna to Man City.

Arsene Wenger has entered into negotiations with the St James’ Park side who want £12m for the former Lille man, who has impressed during this time on the north-east but may well be tempted by a move to the north London side who can of course offer the defender Champions League action.

Arsenal are reportedly not keen on forking out such a fee and may prefer instead to pursue young Toulouse defender Serge Aurier instead.

Newcastle United are of course well known for cashing in on their top talents and owner Mike Ashley has never had an issue accepting offers for his side’s top talents and as such the Gunners may do well to haggle with the club in pursuit of Debuchy.

Alan Pardew would be loathed to lose Debuchy having seen the damage the club suffered after seeing Yohan Cabaye move to PSG in January.
