With the transfer window now open, there will be a number of deal done that sneak up on us from off the radar. Often it is the biggest transfers that come out of nowhere, and with the money set to fly once again, there are a number of unusual moves ready to be made.
Gary Medel – Cardiff City to Arsenal
The Chilean star has turned the public’s opinion of him thanks to the World Cup. When he arrived at Cardiff last summer he was tagged as a thug, but he has enjoyed a decent disciplinary record for the Bluesbirds, and his performances in general have been top notch, even though he was unable to halt the club’s slide back to the Championship. With Arsenal in need of a defensive midfielder they could do much worse than landing the Chilean hard man. Furthermore, he can fill in at centre-back when needed.
